Friday Night Social

On the evening of Friday 5 March 2010, the GMSA and HCGSA will be co-hosting "This is Not a Conference" at Dewey's on UofA campus. Starting at 8:00, the event will include two presentations as well as two musical performances:

Michael MacDonald: Quartet 2: A filmic analysis of Dan Brophy’s Quartet 2

Rylan Kafara: Punk and Protest: Direct Action and the Role of Music in the Counterculture of the 1980s

Musical performance by MUGBAIT

Musical performance by Wool on Wolves

The event begins at 8:00, $5 at the door. Tell your friends. All proceeds go towards supporting local music.

Update: New Distinguished Speaker Added

Hi conference attendees, we are pleased to announce that a new Distinguished Speaker has been added to the docket for Saturday's proceedings. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Michael L. Barton, Professor of American Studies and Social Science at Pennsylvania State University in Harrisburg. Looks to be an exciting conference shaping up, stay tuned for more details concerning the program as they become available.
